| Margie Cooper Research Analyst / Project Director
| As a long time member of the Gilmore team, Margie has experience with research conducted for clients in almost all business and public sectors. In her more than 20 years with Gilmore, she has had responsibilities in data collection, coding and entry, project direction and analysis. This varied background gives Margie a rich understanding of marketing research procedures and methodologies. She is currently responsible for analysis of survey results, report writing, day-to-day operations on a number of research projects and management of the company’s production staff. Margie holds a BA degree from Seattle University.
Managing the production of graphic communications at Gilmore is a natural for Margie considering her love for textile graphics. Some “scattergrams” and quadrant maps can make inspirational quilted art. The focus she maintains on quality control in her professional life can also be seen in the gorgeous flowers that grace her gardens, weed-free.
| Anthony Salisbury Research Associate / Compliance Officer | At Gilmore, Anthony is involved in the management and quality control of projects requiring high levels of expertise and critical thinking. His more than 16 years of experience in telephone technologies as they relate to high-quality survey research have been put to good use in both his role as Research Associate and Gilmore's Security Officer. Because the company regularly conducts research in healthcare and related fields, Anthony's attention to the security of sample information and study results is essential for the company to be HIPAA compliant.
With a BS in philosophy and the behavioral sciences from Whitman and his ability to control the security of Gilmore's extensive information databases, Anthony has proven it is possible to weave together belief and the practical application in daily life. As an example of this, Anthony is more than a philosophic "locavore." The flock of Thanksgiving turkeys grazing happily in his backyard until late November every year is proof.
| Mike Groves Data Specialist / Analyst | With more than 15 years of experience in marketing research, Mike is a valuable member of any Gilmore project team. Although he has concentrated his work in the field of healthcare research for much of that time, Mike is considered the "go-to" guy, "jack-of-all-trades" for any challenge involving data. He works on many large quantitative projects including the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Studies and the semi-annual Washington State Population Survey. His particular emphasis is ensuring the quality and integrity of survey data. Mike is one of the behavioral science crowd at Gilmore having graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Sociology.
In the warmer seasons, Mike can be found dodging float planes in a kayak on Lake Union or hiking in the nearby mountains. And, as a self-proclaimed "cinemaphile," he spends much of the wetter months in the local theaters of the Northwest searching for the perfect 70's movie.
| Sarah Swann-Ketzel Research Analyst | With over 10 years of research experience Sarah is a valuable member of Gilmore’s analysis team. Her background includes political polling, healthcare research, in-depth legislative interviewing and mystery shopping. Through her years of experience, Sarah has developed a special skill in statistical analysis and translating data into actionable findings. Her current responsibilities include analyzing data from many business sectors; from healthcare to B2B technologies, from private utilities to public agencies. Sarah has her Bachelor’s degree from University of Kansas and her Master’s degree from Ohio State University.
As if managing a 6 year old isn’t enough exercise, Sarah is a runner and dedicated practioner of Pilates. For her, this is not a matter of “finding time.” This is a factor of life. Whether she is busy analyzing data, traveling in Europe or transporting Amelia to one of her favorite activities, Sarah always manages to incorporate time for a good run or at least one mat class.
| Jill Bruins Research Analyst / Project Director | Even though Jill has been a marketing professional for only a few years, through internships and residence in several locales, she has already gained valuable experience in the field. Before she joined the Gilmore team, Jill had worked in the world of online panels and had designed primary research for both research providers and end clients. She is an analyst by nature and focuses on identifying insights and implications for her clients resulting from her in-depth inquiry. Jill has dual Bachelor's degrees from Utah State University in Marketing and Economics and a Master's degree in Survey Research from the University of Connecticut.
Among the many academic awards Jill received in college, the most telling perhaps was receiving scholar athlete awards all four of her undergrad years. Her Facebook page captures Jill's love of all things athletic when it lists her activities as "Softball, volleyball, basketball, racquetball, snowboarding, ping-pong, wake-boarding, long boarding ..." This is a person who has accomplished a lot both personally and professionally in just a few years.
| | | | Tim Lensing Seattle Telephone Center Manager
| As manager of Gilmore’s telephone center in Seattle, Tim is responsible for supervising and motivating interviewers as well as implementing project priorities to ensure the quality and integrity of the data collected. When Tim joined the Gilmore team in 2005, he brought with him 5 years of experience supervising projects at the Social and Economic Sciences Research Center at WSU – the same center where Don Dillman literally “wrote the book” on survey research. It was here where Tim received his BS degree in Psychology.
When Tim took over responsibility for the Seattle telephone center, interviewers on this staff had a real reason to celebrate. He not only understands how intense good interviewing can be when it is done well but he also understands how to thank the crew when an especially challenging project is completed. When it has been especially difficult, Tim has been known to haul in tubs of his mouthwatering, “fall off the bone” ribs – high praise, indeed!
| Olga St. John CATI / Web Survey Programmer
| Olga has been with Gilmore Research for 20 years. She initially joined the company as a data collection supervisor and quickly moved into being the lead CATI Programmer. She is not only extremely familiar with the Voxco programming used for both Gilmore’s telephone and web survey protocols, but she is proficient with Excel and SPSS as well. As clients who regularly depend on Olga’s skills and creative problem solving have come to understand, she is conversant with more than simply setting up questionnaires for fielding. Olga, herself, is an important quality control system at Gilmore.
Two areas of abiding interest for Olga are combined when she and her husband take to the road with their big black lab, Bobby. Getting out into nature is a favorite pastime for Olga especially during the summer. Bobby is not a fan of the startling noises and explosive night displays of the Fourth of July, so what better reason to head the whole family out to a quiet campground. | | | | | | | | | |
